Red Rebels, the Netherlands
Dutch XR Red Rebels supporting a blockade in the financial district of Amsterdam September 2020.
The Red Rebels are a theatrical group of the climate justice activist group Extinction Rebellion. The Red Rebels often appear at civil disobedience actions where they perform a de-escalation function. They calm the storm in the midst of war.
Inspired by the slow motion Bhutto Dance of Japan the red rebels were initiated by Doug Francisco from the Invisible Circus in Bristol. He writes: "To hold your stance in stillness as you move in procession or tableaux..gives it an almost supernatural power over audiences and an other worldly presence, which is hauntingly beautiful."

Trestle Masks - Putting on a Mask

Some basic guidelines for putting on a full mask
Thank you soooo much for this video. I am a caricature artist here in Winnipeg , Manitoba Canada. In the summer time I travel with an entertainment caravan of games and rides. Ferris wheel and other rides and so on. I am using costumes (customized) to act a bit of a chararcter too, so this video was a real delight for further growth into my entertainment gig. Thank you and I look forward to watching more! This is genius on your part explaining things, I do really appreciate your efforts here.
Thanks for your kind comments and I'm so happy that you found it useful. Good luck with your touring this summer.
Thank you so much Mr for sharing your beautiful training. It will help me a lot in my clown moving body with a chair.
I was chuckling to myself from the start, but when you lay on the chair and started swimming i laughed very hard. Great job!
It's a great video for someone learning about clown, wonderful job+
Well, thank you for your kind comment.
Nephilim
that's the spot!🐫
I sure do love clowning around
Feels like that episode of king of the hill where bobby keeps laughing at the number three and having to explain his jokes lol.
It's very creative. From an artistic point of view I like it very much. Unfortunately I've become too scalded (maybe it's the wrong word?) to find it funny.
I'm staying with a problem all the time I'm not a clown though)) but probably I should?)) thanks for this video, now I understand a power that make everyday things easier)
This clown constantly negotiates audience reaction with his face . The physical action speaks for itself. Trust your audience. Mentally step back; you will feel their reaction.c
beautiful work
Thank you
I Wanna Practice be a "Ronald McDonald!"
ahhh I see now! that’s were the comedy and creativity comes in! constantly coming up with ridiculous ways in which it doesn’t work, while acting genuine and clueless! what a fun routine, laughed a lot :)
Glad you laughed! Good luck with your clowning.
mr golasch is better
If I went with this performance, I probably would have sneezed at the end and accidentally drop the cake. Lol
Ok, so the clown sticks with the problem? So say the clown wants a balloon and doesn’t want to lose it, so we as people normally tie it to our finger, but the clown let’s go thinking that it will fall to the ground, it floats away, making another problem of grabbing it, grabs it, then let’s go again. Is that how it works or more sofisticated?
That's a pretty good summary of how it works. If you wanted to stick further with the problem and develop an act further, the challenge would be to discover different ways of grabbing the balloon and different reasons for letting it go. And finally the pay off - how will it end? Will the balloon burst?
So simple and so brilliant. Thank you Mr. Richardson.
Love the Schubert

Thanks for outlining the fundamental things to know as a clown

5:37 nooooo donde te sentaste !!!!!
Wish I knew this meant - I've figured out its to do with sitting on (or maybe not on) a cake! So, probably relevant. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for posting this! I'm just starting out as a clown and this was a wonderful way to show how the clown thinks
Why is there a whole video on how to put on a mask?

The background music reminds me a 60's TV program you use to watch as a child.
It is rather awful - but I hope it brings back happy memories!

Awesome Clown Act and Clown Instruction!

@@MrDramaWorkshops Thank you very much!
Thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed it and I learned a lot. Best regards, from the bottom of the heart of my little clown.
I'm so glad that it was helpful. Happy fooling and good luck with your clowning.
Clown çalışması icin iyi bir örnek oldu.
Isn't this technically just miming though?
Yes, I guess so - although I would prefer to call it clowning. Were Chaplin and Buster Keaton mimes or clowns? I think clowning can cover a lot of skills - mime, magic, juggling, slapstick.
I don't think mimes have props
Beware of definitions . It is theatre , one uses skills to do the show.
Superb!
Thank you!
I'm a magician /clown but I tend to go towards the creepy side of clowning, do you have any references I can look at for knife juggling and maybe more dangerous type stunts
Yes, clowning can cover so many different styles. Even some of those early circus clowns could be pretty brutal - in Felini's fantastic film 'I Clowns' there is a great bit where one of the clown's puts an axe into the head of another. I'm sure you can find some other dangerous stunts like this on youtube. Have you thought of trying the bowling ball juggling routine which ends with the juggler throwing one of the balls up and bouncing it on his/her head?
Wilson&Kepple are cool, but I think of their sand dance as a branch of tapdance rather than the rubber-limbed optical illusions I associate with eccentric dancing. Am I mistaken?
I'm not sure - I think that eccentric dance can cover quite a wide range of styles. You could check out Dickie Henderson on tyoutube - ua-cam.com/video/_RHHUmGaRsk/v-deo.html
This is great! thanks for shearing!!
Thank you - I hope it has been helpful to you.
Instead of a chair, one could use a Tiger.
Absolutely - do send me a link to your video when you do the tiger act!
